Maintenance Manager - Site based role - Chesterfield 
Our client is part of a global manufacturing business that has an FMCG site based in Chesterfield.    
Continually growing, our client is now looking to recruit a Maintenance Manager to head up their multi skilled maintenance team.  
Responsibilities:
As the Maintenance Manager, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing the sites maintenance strategy to ensure safe and efficient operations. In collaboration with the production team, you will coordinate all activities to optimise plant availability, performance, and quality. The role requires a forward-thinking leader with strong communication and people skills.


Key Tasks and Duties:
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and health & safety protocols in all maintenance activities.
  • Manage day-to-day on-site maintenance operations, providing leadership and support to the team.
  • Consistently reinforce values and the maintenance strategy to all employees.
  • Manage the workload of the maintenance department, effectively addressing site priorities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the plant.
  • Identify cost savings and drive cost efficiency within the manufacturing operation.
  • Ensure all maintenance personnel are trained and developed to achieve optimal operational performance.
  • Collaborate closely with managers and teams to address issues through open communication and teamwork.
  • Mentor and coach the team using RCA techniques to quickly identify root causes of downtime issues.
  • Ensure the CMMS is fully utilized, with departments actively using the system to prevent reactive work.
  • Continuously update the SAP CMMS to prevent future downtimes by updating TPMs and PMs regularly.
  • Identify potential future site CAPEX projects before they impact KPI performance.
  • Work with the Engineering Project Manager and Plant Manager to implement strategy, standards, and new techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance departments across the organization.
  • Travel may be required quarterly for engineering/CI group meetings.
  • Regularly provide progress reports to the Plant Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven track record in a Maintenance Department with 5+ years of people management experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the maintenance environment and best industry practices.
  • Experience with maintenance techniques such as TPM, PPM, CBM, and RCM.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and identify process improvements to prevent failures.
  • Capability to multitask and make quick, effective decisions.
  • Experience with CMMS systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving and RCA skills.
  • A driven individual capable of motivating the maintenance team and sustaining positive change on site.
  • Engineering or trade qualification with relevant industry experience.
